Limerence

a poem by Rahmat Alkarim
Once, I shut my eyes,
The world, the time,
collapsed.
Then, I open my eyes again,
And everything is born.
The moon stares at me in blue,
While the emptiness lurks in,
As my vision went dark,
And the world withers.
I dreamt of you grasping my hand,
And holds me tight through time,
Kissed me like an angel,
Then spoke words of beauty through my ears.
I think of you as happiness grows,
But time slowly sow you from my memory.
I created a part of you within me,
From parts of you that didn’t exist.
